WebViewer Xtra

The First Cross-Platform Web Browser Embed Xtra.

Overview

WebViewer Xtra embeds Web Browser functions in your Director movie, using Microsoft's Internet Explorer engine in the Windows platform, and Apple's Safari engine in the Macintosh platform. By cross-platform Lingo scripting, it realizes not only HTML rendering, but also full controlling of the web browser features such as re-direct hyper-link navigation, disable the context menu, and so on. It also provides you some additional functions like executing your JavaScript, capturing the rendered HTML image, etc.

Cross-platform original web browser (from the sample movie)
  • Make your original web browser with special features.
  • Cross platform integration of Direcror and other html embeded contents.
  • Much more powerful contents display, instead of text and rich text sprites.

Online manual

These packages contain the xtra for each platform, its manual, sample movies and their source. The manual contains instructions about installation and usage of Xtras. The sample movies and their soure show you how the xtras works and how to use it.

Without registration, the xtra is fully functional in authoring on the Director - you can play and debug your movie with it. Before you register it, the xtra does not work in your projector application (though it works for a while for test). After you purchase the xtra and enter its registration code in your movie, it also work without any limitations in the projector. From the viewpoint of security, it does not work in Shockwave player.

Notice: There are some different behaviors between the Windows and Macintosh version of the xtra. Refer to its manual for details.
